Every once in a while, I like to step back from what I’m doing, painting, creating, and just let things sit. I like to reflect on what is it that I’m doing? Am I painting and creating for myself? Do I have a message to share with others through art? If so, what is that message? In order to answer these questions AND to continue preparations for Kara Bullock’s Let’s Face It course that will be mine to share this fall, I decided on Monday last, that I would draw a figure EVERY DAY.
I drew one on Monday. Yay! I drew another one last night. Yay! The week isn’t over and I might get another one drawn. We shall see. Anyway, I have found in both work and my personal life that goals end up being guidelines. They are fluid. They ebb and flow with the different variables that come into play in life. To me, what counts is the intent and diligence in working toward the goal while still being able to bend with the wind without fretting that “things aren’t getting done”. I find that to be a waste of my good energy. Hence, I developed two goals this week:
- Draw a figure every day. Stick figures are okay. 🙂
- Ebb and flow with the variables of life with minimal fretting.
Here are my two drawings (so far) this week. Hope you enjoy!
